Mindfulness

Discover the power of being present

The origin of mindfulness is found in the meditation of Theravada Buddhism (specifically in the original teachings of Siddhartha Gautama Sakyamun, known as Buddha), so its origins date back
more than twenty-five centuries.

And the terms “full attention” or “mindfulness” refer to the name that has been given in the West to a type of meditation in the field of health and psychology. This expression refers to our potential
to use the mind to focus on the present, in a full way, which implies not missing anything of it:
being present, feeling and doing, removing the mind from judgments, worries, fears, uncertainties and memories.

Different mindfulness practices

In our workshops and retreats we will carry out different practices such as:

  • Meditation: we will focus on awareness, on the present moment and on acceptance, no matter what happens.
  • Deep breathing: with this technique we will breathe deeply from the abdomen, filling the entire lungs, in this way we will inhale much more oxygen than if we breathe through the chest.
  • Body scan: through sensory exploration throughout the body, we will concentrate the attention of our mind on each part of it. We start first with the area of the feet and, from there, we will stop for a while in each part of the body to explore and feel it.

The benefits of mindfulness

These practices facilitate the development of a greater understanding of the present moment.
From there, we can realize when we are resisting and fighting against the reality of life. In addition, concentrating on feeling our body favors the prevention and medical treatment of pathologies, and strengthens our immune system. Connecting with our emotions and accepting them contributes to balancing emotional stress and unblocking tensions, reduces anxiety, depression
and improves the quality of sleep.

We invite you to experience the benefits of Mindfulness techniques in a serene and relaxing environment. Our yoga workshops and retreats are designed to offer you an escape from daily stress, allowing you to immerse yourself in the practice and discover a more balanced and joyful version of yourself.
